Youth

7:58 PM
The taxi pulled away just as Hazel reached the taxi rank. Damn - damn she exclaimed in a fit of temper. Hazel stamped her foot comically, her shoe slamming down into a puddle. Freezing water soaked the arch of her foot and splashe up her legs. Her shoulders dropped

She couldn't stand out here in the rain for who knows how long waiting for another taxi to come, and the alternative was even less appealing - to take her chances among the hundred or so crowd of drunks and idiots at the main taxi rank across from the railway station.

The only other chance was the last bus, though it was the haunt of the weird and the sad drunks like her, but if she hurried Hazel would probably still make it. Pulling her shoulder wrap over her shoulders and hudling down against the rain, she began a half run half walk tottering on her sodden stiletto sandels down the road towards the bus stop. The wind and rain made Hazels nipples stiffen and rub uncomfortably against her blouse rapidly turning transparent in the wet. To make things worse, her bare legs were exposed to top of her thigh, and were stinging as the little drops of ice cold rain whipped againt her legs.

As a car hissed up alongside in a shallow puddle by the kerb, Hazel steeled herself for the lecherous comments, reflexively, she spun round ready to give them a withering comment... Then she realised the looked familiar. The drivers door sprang open, and shock of red hair poked over the roof of the car, sheltered by a protective arm crooked over the head.
